Faculty team and College Employer Council (CEC) present initial
bargaining goals. CEC tables initial proposal
CEC tabled an “offer of settlement” that expires August 24, 2017
The Faculty team consults with the 24 Local Presidents, BAC and
advisors.
Faculty return to work from summer vacations.
Faculty are prepping courses for the return to school.
The Faculty team officially rejects the CEC offer.
Faculty team tables a comprehensive offer of settlement that includes
improvements on 16 faculty demands
CEC rejects the Faculty Team Offer.

Faculty at Ontario’s 24 colleges vote 65% in favour of a strike
mandate.
Faculty and Union return to bargaining table.
Colleges request “no board report” in preparation for Pending strike.
CEC rejected the offer of settlement presented by OPSEU.
Legal strike or Lockout date set for October 15, 2017.
Date the Collective Agreement for 12,000 Ontario College faculty, counsellors
& librarians expired.

At 12:40pm The CEC releases a News
Release on the Canadian News Wire stating that “OPSEU has stonewalled
negotiations”
Ontario Labour Board schedules forced vote November 14-16, 2017.
Faculty begin vote on Management’s Final Offer issued November 6th.
Final count announced – 95% of Ontario Faculty, Counsellors &
Librarians voted. 85% rejected Management’s Final Offer.
Negotiations
to resume in the afternoon.
At 5:00pm Colleges and OPSEU reach an alleged impasse and breakdown
of negotiations.
At 6:24pm The CEC publishes a News Release on the Canadian
News wire accusing the colleges of additional demands that forced the talks
to breakdown.
Premier Wynne proposes back-to-work legislation to put an end to the
strike.
